Where Broadmoor is

  • Broadmoor and South Broadmoor are part of the Shreve City area, between the Shreveport–Barksdale bridge and East Kings Highway.
  • A. C. Steere Elementary on Youree Drive was originally called Broadmoor School.
  • Broadmoor STEM Academy is a Caddo Parish public school for grades K–8.

How requests are handled citywide is on the main foundation repair in Shreveport page.

The survey behind every recommendation

Before a specialist recommends piers, drainage, or nothing at all, they should measure the floor. An elevation survey records the height of the floor at points across the house, usually relative to one reference point. The result is a set of numbers on a floor plan — the most useful single document you will get from an evaluation.

How to read it

  • Look for the low area. Readings that drop toward one corner or one wall tell you where the house has moved down.
  • Look for a high area too. A floor can rise as well as sink, so a high spot in the middle of the house is worth asking about.
  • Match it to what you see. The low area should line up with the sticking doors and cracks you have noticed. If it does not, ask why.
  • Match it to the plan. Any piers on the quote should sit where the survey shows movement, not evenly spaced for the sake of it.

Keep a copy

Ask for the survey in writing and keep it. If you get a second opinion, it lets you see whether both specialists found the same thing. After any repair, a second survey taken the same way shows what changed. And if you sell the house, it is part of the record of what was done.

From survey to scope

On a house built on concrete, a survey that shows a settled section usually leads to a pier plan. The slab foundation repair page explains how piers support and lift a slab, and why a plumbing test may come up first. Per pier, published national ranges put steel push piers at $990 to $1,350 per pier — a national figure, not a local price.
